The Kevin Babington Foundation (KBF) is issuing a final call to runners, walkers, and supporters to register now for the upcoming “Run for Kevin” 5K & 10K Walk/Run during the Palm Beaches Marathon Weekend on Saturday, December 13, 2025, along the breathtaking waterfront of West Palm Beach.
Today marks the last day to purchase your entry and guarantee your requested T-shirt size. Beginning tomorrow, shirts will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis, and sizes will not be guaranteed. All available shirts will be offered in standard unisex sizing until supplies run out.
This unforgettable event blends fitness, purpose, and community — giving every participant a chance to move with meaning and support KBF’s objective to uplift equestrian athletes and carry forward the spirit, resilience, and leadership embodied by Kevin, Jonathon, Kim, Alexis and David.

“The Run for Kevin is a celebration of spirit — the kind of unwavering drive that Kevin , Jonathon, Kim, Alexis and David represent,” said Jeff Papows, Chairman of the Kevin Babington Foundation. “Every step taken on that course is a statement of solidarity, hope, and heart. We’re not just running a race — we’re continuing a movement.”
Participants may choose between the 5K or 10K, both starting at 7:30 AM on December 13th at 104 Datura Street, West Palm Beach. Every registration made through KBFEvents.com includes an official race entry, exclusive KBF hat and T-shirt (while supplies last), and the opportunity to support the Foundation through donation tiers from Standard to Rockstar.
“Kevin, Jonathon, Kim, David and Alexi’s courage is a daily reminder that resilience is contagious,” noted supporter Alan Griffin. “When you join this race, you’re not just running for Kevin — you’re running for everyone who needs to know they’re not alone in their fight.”

About Kevin Babington Foundation:
In late August 2019, Kevin experienced a life-altering moment when he suffered a complete spinal cord injury following a fall during the 2019 Grand Prix at the Hampton Classic Horse Show in Bridgehampton, NY, United States. In early September, Kevin underwent a critical surgery to stabilize the vertebrae in his neck. By mid-October of that same year, he had made significant progress, transitioning from relying on a ventilator for breathing to facing the challenge of being paralyzed from the neck down. Remarkably, just two months later, Kevin began teaching from his wheelchair. Today, he remains on a determined journey, actively participating in experimental stem cell therapy, holding onto the hope of regaining movement below the neck.
This life-altering event marked the inception of the Kevin Babington Foundation, which was established in 2019. Kevin Babington Foundation (KBF) has been created to provide funding and support for Equestrian Show Jumping Athletes who sustain spinal injuries. In addition to providing financial assistance the foundation will also strive to educate riders, trainers and show organizers about the most current safety measures designed to reduce the risk of serious injuries which can occur while riding.
